Brunch at Tara Rose

A neighborhood gem in Murray Hill with an awesome brunch and a private speakeasy.

Nothing says #SundayFunday like an Aperol Spritz and a breakfast burger! Tara Rose has got you covered for brunch with your choice of a Bloody Mary, Mimosa, or an Aperol Spritz. Can’t decide? Just try all three like I did.

Tara Rose is a really cool neighborhood gem with a private speakeasy. It’s my casual go-to for lunch. It’s my favorite late night bite especially for happy hour specials and trivia night. I’ve even heard that it’s a great date night spot… perhaps. The owner and his staff are super friendly and I heard they have live music.

I first visited Tara Rose for brunch with the bae, after finding a Pulsd deal for a $29 brunch for two. The brunch menu has a good variety of breakfast and lunch options, in case you’re not in the mood for a basic egg white omelet.

I ordered the Breakfast Burger, which comes with home fries and is served with Sir Kensington ketchup, of course. It’s just like a regular cheeseburger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, but it also comes with a fried egg in the middle. I also recommend adding some THICC ASS bacon. This burger is also a good option for anyone who’s doing the gluten-free thing.

And for him… Chicken & Waffles served with chipotle maple syrup. Now here is a true Southern staple right on New York City’s east side, but with a structural twist. This brunch dish is like the happy marriage of a fluffy waffle and crispy, juicy chicken in the form of a sandwich. Plus, the combination of sweet maple syrup and a creamy spicy sauce creates such an amazing flavor.

I also recommend the Hangover Sambo! It’s your basic eggs smothered in cheddar cheese, tasco ham, THICC ASS bacon, and the mysterious “secret sauce” unique to Tara Rose. Plus, it does help a hangover paired with a nice cold ginger ale.
