Letter from the Editor: May 2018
Dear Readers,
It's May, which means Spring is finally here! That also means that Mother's Day is coming soon. So, I hope you're shopping for thoughtful gifts for all the mothers in your life. I haven't picked anything out yet, but when I do you'll be the first to know. Stay tuned!
This month, I'm focusing my blog content on two things: accountability and time management. It's time to stop making excuses. My biggest excuse is a lack of time. For the longest time, I didn't relaunch my blog because I didn't have time. I didn't go to the gym for months because I worked too much and didn't have time. I never took that graphic design course because I didn't have time. I fell off on reading and knitting (the things I love to do) because I didn't have time. One day I just snapped out of it! And you should too. You need to make time for the things that you need AND want to do. By making a conscious effort not to procrastinate, you can be 5x more productive at work, home, and school. It makes me feel so much better to complete tasks than whine about how much work I have to do. Crying doesn't help either.
Flash forward a few months later... The gym has been penciled back into my schedule for months now. And when I'm feeling super-pumped, I hit the gym in the AM and the PM. I know, it's cray! But, I look and feel great!
Obviously, if you're reading this right now, it means that I finally got around to relaunching my blog. I invested in a few web design courses and brushed up on my Adobe Photoshop skills. I relearned how to use Canva better than I ever did before. It took lots of hard work and sleepless nights, but it was so worth it. I've reached out to all my day ones, aka SeeBiancaBlog followers, who are now transitioning with me to #OSFL.
My inbox is completely empty everyday because I'm make it a point to check it twice a day and reply to every new email. I wouldn't let my work emails slip through the cracks, so I'm not going to ignore my followers. You deserve better than that.
I'm now holding myself accountible by making sure that I check everything off my to-do list everyday. There's no reason that I can't go to the gym at least 3 or 4 days a week. There's no reason I can't spend at least an hour a day knitting or reading, before bed every night. Schedules need space for hobbies too! There's definitely no reason to let my inbox pile up. And there's no reason not to share biweekly blog posts and a monthly letter with my readers. I made the decision to startup my blog again and I need to see it through to the end (which won't be anytime soon).
-Bianca
