Aude & William
The Wild Travel Couple
Meet Aude & William — The Wild Travel Couple!
This Power Couple comes to us from Albi, France. On a typical day, Aude is a Nurse and William is Aid Trainer. Throughout their travels, much has changed, including their mindsets, their way of traveling, and even their lifestyle. They take on more of an ecological and environmentally friendly approach.
A word from them… “…It seems important to us today to protect this unique and fragile ecosystem. It is therefore unimaginable for us to set foot in a circus, a zoo, or participate in activities highlighting animals locked up or tied up. In France, we live with a zero-waste objective, as much local as possible and without plastic. We don’t ban everything because we know it’s often complicated to apply it while traveling. But we do what we can.”
Q & A
How long have you been together?
5 years.
How long have you been traveling together?
3 years. We leave twice a year for long trips. And in France for the rest of the year, when we have a weekends together.
What drives your enthusiasm for traveling?
Aude: First of all, it's to get together, because we work a lot during the year. And of course we want to discover the planet as a person. Animals are our primary objective when traveling. We often choose destinations based on the animals we want to see. It’s a real passion. We can also say that we are very much in favor of ecology so it is sometimes complicated to say that we are going to pollute while traveling. But that’s how we came to ban plastic and review our consumption patterns.
William: The discovery of the world! Meet a new culture, see different landscapes. I think travel feeds the mind; it makes us grow.
Do you feel that traveling has helped strengthen your bond?
Aude: Clearly, yes. When we first met our ideas were very opposite for many things. But, over the course of our travels, we joined and evolved together to get along extremely well.
William: Completely! The trip is, I think, a good test for a couple. We share the same vision of things and we complement each other. I have the impression after each trip of being even more in love. We share such strong moments during these trips ...
If you had to choose one, what is your favorite place to travel to?
Aude: My favorite trip was Iceland even if I preferred not to have to choose... because it is very difficult, Namibia is on my continent of heart so it is with a pinch in the heart that I do not not choose but Iceland literally changed me. As much in myself as on William's side. It put us in a big slap and we will come back for summer for sure!
William: Difficult to choose because each trip is different and each one has brought us something. The countries above the Arctic Circle... if not Namibia with its desert landscapes, its animals... It remains a great memory for me.
Us: But if it's a place anywhere, we would probably choose Antarctica without hesitation (but before Greenland.)
Where is your next trip? Why this place?
Aude: Good question. With the events taking place in France and in the world at the moment, we don't know if we will be able to leave in August / September. We have some ideas but nothing well-founded ... but I will still deliver them. It would be either an island in Indonesia (Philippine, Borneo ...) or Chile, Patagonia, or Japan.
William: We are lovers of nature and animals... So we are thinking for the moment, but we don't know yet where the next will be. We have so many ideas and above all we want to go everywhere!!
Do you have a travel blog, where you document all of your trips in more detail? Or a branded hashtag?
Aude: We have a Wild Travel Girl Blog, open for 2 years where we deliver absolutely all our trips. In the year, maybe a surprise will be born on this blog, but especially a project for us...
For the branded hashtag, it changes for each Trip.
