5 Eye Creams I Found In My Boyfriend's Medicine Cabinet
Once in awhile, when I run out of my bougie toothpaste or something, I have to wander into the left side of the medicine cabinet (which is not my side) and borrow a thing or two. I’m sure my boyfriend wouldn’t mind, right? Anyway, to my surprise, my boyfriend’s side of the medicine cabinet is where it’s at! And more specifically, his eye cream selection is on point. With all those long hours he works, no wonder he never has dark circles under his eyes. Shout out to the bae! While this post is praising him, if I did have to offer any criticism (which of course I always do with bae), it would be that none of his eye creams have SPF to protect his under-eye skin from the sun’s harmful rays. Let’s go ahead and review the five eye moisturizers that I found on his side of the medicine cabinet this weekend.

First up, we have One Love Organics Botanical Eye Balm with Vitamin E, which is a great ingredient to look for in products that claim to fight signs of aging. This magic in a jar is from Follain, a clean beauty retailer. I know because I got it for him, but it disappeared months ago, never to be seen again. I didn’t think he would ever use it, but little did I know. In any case, I highly recommend this eye balm for night time use. It’s kinda thick in texture because it’s a balm, so I like to use it as an overnight eye mask. Plus, it’s a clean beauty product so there’s no guess work on what all the ingredients are.
Here’s $10 off your first Follain order of $50 or more!

City Beauty’s Under Eye Recovery was from his favorite City Beauty Partner, yours truly. So I’m pretty sure that got snatched from over on my side of the medicine cabinet at one point, but that’s okay.
A bit about City Beauty… It is a female owned clean skincare company based in Los Angeles, CA, specializing in what they call “functional beauty" products. Victoria Renee (Founder) set out to create skincare that not only makes your skin look good, but actually target your skin concerns and improve them, instead of just concealing these issues.
There are five key ingredients in this moisturizing eye treatment. ChoNOline™ is an amino acid sequence that helps boost natural collagen production. And as most of us skincare and cosmetic junkies know, collagen is great for firming and tightening skin because it improves eleasticity. Hylausphere™ saturates the skin with hyluranic acid to help hydrate dry skin. SYN-AKE® rapidly reduces the appearance of wrinkles, so this ingredients really compliments the other anti-aging compounds (like hyaluranic acid) in this eye treatment. Beautifeye™ helps strengthen skin to reduce puffiness or under-eye baggage. RejuvenOX® helps reduce the appearance fine lines.
I recommend gently dabbing a small amount underneath your eyes twice daily, but especially at nighttime, when your skin is better able to absorb moisture overnight during your body’s natural nighttime regenerating process.

Third on the list is a charm — Dr. Brandt’s Needles No More® No More Baggage Eye De-Puffing Gel! Dr. Brandt skincare is one of the top names in anti-aging cosmetics and I’ve used other products by this brand, so this eye gel is already a good pick in my book. This is one of my favorite Sephora picks that I recommended to my boyfriend a few months ago, when we were both traveling more for work and not looking very well-rested at all.
Because this is an eye de-puffing “gel,” and not just an eye cream, it is meant to be used over an eye cream. However, the label also details that this product can be used alone, or underneath makeup. I don’t have a preference, but it depends on how heavy my eye cream is to begin with. And I’ve definitely worn it under my makeup a few times, which helps to get my under-eye concealer on smoothly. And even by itself, this eye gel is peach colored which immediately helps conceal dark under-eye circles, while it works its magic all day long. It’s got a nice cooling effect, so I like to sneak it on before we head out to dinner, when my eyes start looking a little sleepy.
It’s actually really cool how fast-acting this eye gel is on puffy under-eye bags. So it’s great for travelers or guys always traveling for work, trying to catch that red eye, hence the name of the eye gel — “No More Baggage.” I like the play on words! In any case, this is great for daytime use, and works wonders overnight too.

Maapilim Eye Cream came from a Birchbox subscription he received as a holiday gift last year. Believe it or not, I just discovered this brand when I found it in the medicine cabinet. Looks like Maapilim is a startup company based in Israel that creates handcrafted Mediterranean grooming essentials for men. This eye cream has got some good selection of what I like to call “ABC Vitamins.” One of the main ones is vitamin C, so that’s a plus for moisture and protection from free radicals that come from UV rays. And apparently quinoa is the latest and greatest anti-aging ingredient because it’s very rich with vitamin A. Quinoa also contains riboflavin (aka B2), which improves skin elasticity. And in terms of application, a small dab around the eyes daily is what’s recommended.

And last, but not least, we have the Air Repair Super Hydrating Eye Cream! This is a multi-purpose eye treatment that uses aloe and other anti-oxidant properties of vitamin C, green tea extract, and cloudberry seed oil to reduce puffiness. To my knowledge, green tea extract has the same effect on the skin that caffeine does, like reducing discoloration in skin tone. So the green tea is what helps reduce the appearance of dark under-eye circles.
This eye cream is another one of the thicker creams on the list that I recommend night time use for. I’ve used it a few times especially having some long weekends of non-stop makeup retouching and I actually find it super moisturizing. And because it’s got the soothing effects of aloe vera, I also recommend a few small dabs around the eyes after a long day in the sun, especially if you hit the beach pretty hard.
As for the source, this eye cream also came from another Birchbox for men.
